What a Difference a Year Makes

I was going through pictures last night on my camera that I got last year at Christmas time. It was full on some fun pictures and memories. As I looked at some of the pictures, I realized how much I had changed this year. I have had several different hair styles and thought I would share those.
Here are the hairstyle of Whitney for 2009:

These are in order from the first of the year to the end.
I hope you all have a wonderful new year!!!!

Crazy! Busy! Fun!

This past week was a lot of fun. I was able to do a lot of things that I would not have ever done, if I did not live here. They were wonderful experiences!
~SUNDAY~
Last Sunday, I drove up to Pocatello after church. I was able to watch the Christmas Devotional with my family and really enjoyed it. After that, I went to visit a friend who I miss not having around. It was a good night.
~MONDAY~
I went to the orthodontist on Monday with high hopes that he would say it was time to take these braces off. It did not happen. I go back in January and hopefully they will come off then, but I am not going to get my hopes up this time. After the appointment, I drove back and went to work. It was finals week down here, so for home evening we had a bread and jam social. That was nice to talk to people and relax, even though I tend to talk with a lisp now, thanks to the lovely elastics that I have to wear.
~TUESDAY~
Here is my confession. I am one of those who people who love watching "The Biggest Loser" while enjoying a treat. This week was no exception, especially because it was the finale. I went over to a friend's apartment and watched the finale while enjoying some delicious peppermint fudge.
~WEDNESDAY~
This was probably the least exciting day, but I used it to get caught up on some cleaning that needed to be done and to do my laundry. Nothing too exciting there.
~THURSDAY~
It was ward temple night. I love that the temple is so close and that I can go there so often. I was a little nervous going into the session this time, because the previous week I had been pretty sick and I did not want to have problems. It was an amazing session for me and I was able to get some assurances that I needed about my life right now. There is no doubt in my mind that I need to be living in the present and not worrying too much about the future. The way will be prepared when the time comes!
~Friday~
I had the awesome opportunity to celebrate the first night of Hanukkah with some friends. It was so much fun, and might I add that the food was amazing. We ate latkas, hala bread, and matzah ball soup. It was amazing. We also lit the menorah, played dreidel, and read a book. It was such a cool experience and I am so glad that I was invited to participate/
~Saturday~
I woke up to snow, and lots of it. A friend and I decided to go to a Spanish session at the temple. (Yes I went to the temple two times in one week. YEAH!!!). It was so nice to be around the language again. When we got out of the session, my car was covered with snow. I ran a few other errands and then decided that it was time to start my Christmas shopping. For those who don't know, I do not like shopping. I within 2 1/2 hours I had basically finished all of my shopping. It was nice to get it done with. That night I spent some time with some friends and took it easy.
~Sunday~
Our ward is combined with another ward for the next couple of weeks. This week we had a Christmas program that was so neat and I got a lot out of it. I love Sundays, and spent most of the day after church relaxing and studying. I got invited to a dinner and enjoyed some good food, good friends, and fun.
This week was crazy, but it was super fun. We'll see what this week brings!

The Four F's

FAMILY
I was able to spend a lot of time with my family this weekend. We were all there, except for my bro, who is serving a mission. It was so nice to see my sister and her family and be reminded of what sweet spirits children bring, especially around the holidays.

FOOD
What Thanksgiving would be complete without a Turkey dinner with all the trimmings. There are so many parts of the meal that are my favorite. I love Mashed Potatoes. The marshmallow fruit salad was amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed the yams. The rolls were amazing. Here is the best part, I ate a little bit of turkey!!!!! I forgot how good that turkey tastes. Yum!

FRIENDS
I was able to see some of my most favorite people in Pocatello. There were some that I did not get to see, but I will get to see them the next time I am down. I went for ice cream with one friend and saw some others in the store on Saturday night.

FUN
The weekend was filled with activities to bring in the Christmas Spirit. We had a light parade where people were literally pouring bags of candy in front of us and onto the laps of those who were sitting. The nephews really enjoyed the parade. Saturday was the fireworks. I LOVE FIREWORKS!!! They are some of my most favorite things. There was also football (and basketball on too). That made the Thanksgiving holiday complete.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and that you found new things to be grateful for.

In the Spirit of Thanksgiving

In the Spirit of Thanksgiving

Click the link above to see the movie.

I loved watching this and it has made me do some thinking. I hope you all enjoy it too! I am not going to lie, this week has not been an easy one for me, but I am grateful for my family, friends, and most of all a loving Heavenly Father and Savior.
I am grateful for the opportunities that I have had throughout my life. I have learned so much from the past. Hard times do make us stronger.
I am thankful for those quiet moments when you know that everything is going to be alright.
I am thankful for the opportunity I have to live so close to a temple and go there often.
I am thankful for random moments that bring laughter and joy to my life.
I am grateful for the tender mercies I have been shown.
I am grateful for the love that I can feel, when sometimes I don't think I deserve it, or at other times when I really need it.
I am thankful for the gospel.
I am grateful to all of you and everything that you have done to help me to find peace, joy, comfort, love, and strength in my life. You are all amazing. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Family Blessing

My niece has been such a blessing to her family, and on Sunday she was blessed. I cannot even explain how amazing it was to be present there. The spirit so strongly. She is such a beautiful little girl.

There was a special feeling of "Forever Families" and I think that below is one of the cutest Forever Families that I know.

I am so grateful that I got be there and share in this wonderful event.

Family Fun!!!

I was blessed with the opportunity to go see my sister and her wonderful family this weekend. We left Pocatello at 6 a.m. I think my mom learned that I am not the happiest camper in the world when I wake up early after getting very little sleep. By the time we got there, I was a much happier person. It could have been the fact that I had food in my stomach, or I had woken up a little, or maybe it was the fact that I got to be around some fun people.

This was my first time getting to see my niece in person. She is so CUTE!!!

We got to spend Halloween with them too. We started out at their ward party.

The boys were so cute. After the ward party, they got to do some trick or treating. It was so much fun to see them both run for the door every time someone knocked, so they could help give candy. My littlest nephew sat on the front porch for while holding the candy bowl, while his brother and nana played with the glow necklaces and bracelets that nana had brought. It was great!
What a great Halloween I spent with Bumblebee, a clown, and Kayleigh "ladybug". (Sorry, I did not get pictures of her in her costume, but take my word, she was cute!)

What A Weekend!!!

This past weekend was wonderful, especially because it was a three-day weekend. A friend in Logan was married on Thursday, so on Friday night I got to help at her reception. Then on Saturday morning, after getting a whole four hours of sleep, at most, I headed to Poky. It was wonderful. Here is some notes from the weekend.
1. Arrived home and spent some time with my mom.
2. Went to lunch with some co-workers from the daycare. Good food and good conversation. I love those ladies.
3. Attended another reception. This one was for two friends from my old ward in Poky.
4. Went to my old ward and got to see so many wonderful people.
5. Had dinner with my parents and my grandpa. We even got homemade mashed potatoes. (I love those things).
6. Visited my grandma at her house with my parents.
7. Hung out with some of my good friends from high school, plus some other wonderful people.
8. Went to the orthodontist with hopes of getting the braces off. It did not happen. I ended up going back later that day because a bracket popped off. I think it was a sign, but they put the bracket back on.
9. Visited the daycare and the kids there.
10. This one just might be my favorite. My mom, dad, and I went for a walk. Part of the way through the walk, it started raining and storming. For those of you who know me, I am not a fan of thunder and lightning. When we got home from the walk, we were soaked and looked beautiful. We all had to change clothes, I think (My dad may not have had to).

All in all, it was a wonderful weekend with friends, family, & fun. Thanks everyone for making it great!

The Cutest Kids Ever

This has got to be one of my favorite pictures ever. I love the look of all of their faces and it is, to quote what is always said, "Picture Perfect". This is my new niece, Kayleigh Anne, and her two big brothers. You can just tell how much those boys love their little sister. Sooooo Cute!
This is Kayleigh at the hospital doing what she is the best at, looking precious.
Thanks for letting me indulge in a little bit of aunt pride. I love my nephews and my new little niece.

New Niece

So, the title says it all. My sister had her baby today. Kayleigh Anne Sayer, though I am not sure that is how they are spelling her first name, was born at 2:04 p.m. and weighed 7 lbs. 4 oz. Mom and baby are doing fine. In the next couple of weeks, I am sure that I am going to be getting pictures that I can post, but we are all pretty excited.

Starry Night

At the beginning of the summer, with all the confusion that can come into someone's life, some friends decided that they were going to build a cardboard box and live out of that box. I got in on the idea and was excited for the construction. However, in August, I moved and the house had still not been built.
Over the next month, my friends took action. They went dumpster diving for cardboard and they built a cardboard house. Last weekend, I decided to go home for the funeral of a friend's grandpa. I was going to come Friday night and leave Saturday sometime after the funeral. When I told my friend that I was going to be in town, she informed me that they were going to be sleeping in the cardboard box house that weekend. I was so excited.
Here is where I would post a picture of the house, but I keep forgetting to bring my camera with me when I have computer access. We spent the night in that house. The weather was great and it was a beautiful night. Half way through the night, part of the box fell down. By the time we woke up the next morning, another part of the box was hanging over us, threatening to fall.
It was a fun experience and I grateful for the one night I had of sleeping under the stars.

What To Say???

I was talking to my mom yesterday and she mentioned that I have not updated my blog in a while, so I have decided to do so today. Here are the important things that have happened this last little while.

FIRST:
Labor Day Weekend was great. I was able to spend some time with friends and learned that I really want to try river surfing. If I would have had the right clothes, I would have done that. What is it? We went to Blackfoot, to an area of a river their with some small rapids and took foam boards. You put yourself in the rapid and see how long you can stay there. It looks like fun! I was also able to go the Eastern Idaho State Fair and spend some much needed time with a friend.

SECOND:
I went to the temple. For some reason, I kept stalling and was having a hard time leaving. When I got to the temple, I found out that I was going to be in a Spanish session. !Que Divertido! I needed that so much and it was an amazing reminder of the wonderful spirits of the hispanic people.

THIRD:
Saturday was my mom's birthday. I was not home, but I did get to talk to her on the phone. I love you mom and hope that your birthday was wonderful. It was great talking to you.

FOURTH:
I was able to attend my ward for the second time. I was actually given a visiting teaching route already. I also received two callings yesterday. Though I was not exactly sure how I felt about them at first, I am excited for these new callings. I was talking with a friend who put it best. These callings will get me out there and make me meet new people. I am so lucky for good friends.

FIFTH:
Just because it seems random to only have four things on a list, I added a number five. I wanted to thank all of you for you friendship. My life is not the most exciting thing, but it is fun for me to write about things. I have been doing a lot of reflecting lately on different things. I am truly so blessed. Thank you all for everything you do. You are all great!

Two Weeks Here and Life is Good

So, I have finally decided to update the blog with some more information. I got a text last night asking when I had moved. I apologize to those I did not tell. It was pretty quick. I moved down here on August 12, 2009. Once I got here, I immediately began working and looking for a place to live. Thank you to my wonderful friend Katy and her amazing roommates who helped me out during that time. I love those girls. That Friday, I went to go look at a couple of places and right after headed home. On Saturday, I had decided on a place and was packing. I am not a fan of packing and so it took a while and I did not get it all done, because I was not going to me able to move in until Tuesday. On Tuesday, my amazing parents came down with my heavy stuff (bed, dresser, trunk, etc. and helped me move the stuff in. After that we had dinner at the Olive Garden and took pictures. Unfortunately, I do not have my camera with me, so I cannot show you pics yet. I spent the rest of the week moving in more, getting organized and going to the temple. I love living in a place where the temple is right there.
This past weekend I headed home again. This time I left the next morning to go to my sister's house for her baby shower. It was sooooo nice to see her and her family. The shower was nice and the ladies who planned it did an amazing job. On Sunday we traveled back to Pocatello, and I came back here.
With no plans of going home this weekend, I am not sure what to do with myself this weekend..... maybe I will go to the temple. :)

BIG NEWS

This past week has been really crazy. There were a lot of unknowns in my life about the future. However, that has changed. Instead of tons of confusion, there is only some now. I got a phone call yesterday telling me that a law office outside of Pocatello has decided to hire me. I AM MOVING! There are still some unknowns like where I am going to live, but everything else has fallen into place, so I am thinking that the housing issue will be resolved soon too. The job starts next Wednesday and I am excited. However, I am a little nervous too. Wish me luck!

Crazy Daze

The Fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays ever. I love fireworks and being with family and friends and all that fun. This year was different then what I had thought but it was good times.
My sister and her family came to Poky to spend some time with us. On Friday, we had a picnic and went swimming. As we were driving home, it started to rain. We had fund.
Saturday was great. We decided to go on a picnic. My Grandpa Ivey, Heather's family and my mom were all there. Sad Day, my dad had to work and could not be there. We went to Ross Park and had a picnic. Carson discovered his loves for cherries, Tanner loved the Cheetos, and the rest of us ate.

We got to play a little bit and headed home to get ready for fireworks. I LOVE FIREWORKS. However, on the way home to get ready, it started to storm. It was huge. There was lots of thunder and lightning. If there is one thing that I dislike as much as I like fireworks, it is thunder (If that makes sense). It began to hail. Here are some pics of that.

We still found ways to have fun and it clear up enough to see fireworks, which made my day. I did not even mind that the ground was wet. I hope everyone else had a great Fourth of July!!!

Snaps!

As promised, here are some pictures from the a recent road trip that I took with an former co-worker. We had a lot of fun.

This is at Gossners. I love the root beer milk. Yum!!!

These are some scenery shots take from the grounds of the Logan Temple. It was beautiful!

This was taken on path that we found. I loved the background and the colors. The funny thing is that is was beautiful in Logan, but back home it was raining all day.

A Quick Update

I have not been the best about updating this because I think the last one was over Memorial Day weekend. I know, that is pretty sad. My life has been hectic lately and I am having to learn how to juggle and balance. I do not mean with balls or standing on one foot, but my life in general. I work tons, my calling keeps me busy, and trying to have a social life on top of that. The past couple of weeks have been spent trying to find that balance. I can honestly say that I am beginning to see it and that I do not have to do everything by myself. What a revelation.
I had craziest dream this week and it came as an answer to me. It was a mixture of the mission and church. There was a lot about change and without boring you with all of the details I have decided that there are some changes needed in my life right now and this is the time to start. Wish me luck with the new adventures that will be coming my way.
I will try to post some pictures of a recent road trip that I took, soon.

The Blessings of Adventures

This is going to be a little more serious and reflective, so if you are not into that kind of stuff, don't read it. I will try to come up with something more exciting and fun for the next one.
I was super excited to have a three day weekend. I did not have many plans and I was going to be completely spontaneous. I ended up having an adventure. I was pretty shook up when it was over, but since I have had some time to reflect on that. I know that God loves us. He will make sure that we are safe and protected. He will find little ways to answer our biggest prayers and let us know that we are doing fine. I am so grateful for his hand in everything that I do and how it helps me to realize that he is always close by. There have been moments when I have wondered if I will ever really know what I am suppose to do. Those are the moments when he sends me a tender mercy and lets me know that he is ever mindful and aware of me.
I look back at the experiences and smile. It showed my that "God Must Really Love Me" and will take over when we let go because we cannot do it alone.

The Hairy Details

DISCLAIMER: I am not very photogenic, but these pictures are being posted at the request of my sister.

For the past couple of months, I have wanted to get my hair trimmed or cut or something a little bit different. This week it began to drive me nuts and I made the decision that it had to go. I went a couple times this week and the girl who was going to cut it was never working. I finally got there when she was working and at that point I was not sure what I wanted to get done. I was debating between a trim, with a different style and keeping it long, or chopping it.

Here is a before the cut picture:

These are pictures of the after:

This is the new do with bangs and all. It is amazing to have a picture with the bangs and not having the in my eyes or face.

Unsinkable and Unforgettable

This weekend was super busy for me and in the craziness of the days, I forgot my camera. Saturday was a great day. I attended a baptism which always makes my days betters and then I got to go to Idaho Falls. A friend and I went to the museum there to see the Titanic exhibit. It was such a neat experience. Upon entering the museum we were given a ticket and a boarding pass. On our boarding pass was the name of someone who was aboard the Titanic. It gave information about that person such as why they were traveling, what class they were, their age, etc. It was even clear enough to give a cabin number for some of the people. My pass was for a 61 year old man from Norway who was going to the U.S. to finish up some business in North Dakota. That would allow him to live in Norway with his wife and the twins that were born one-year prior.
After looking at some of the actual artifacts that were found after the shipwreck, seeing the set-up of the rooms, menus, and experiencing the cold temperature of an ice berg, we came to a wall. On that wall were the names of all those aboard the Titanic and whether the lived or died.
It was such a good experience and one that I will not forget. If you are ever in Idaho Falls and needing something to do, or are even in the area, I highly recommend this.

Reflections and Thoughts

Recently, I have been doing a lot of thinking about what my purpose is in life. I love my calling, my job is great, and I have amazing friends. However, sometimes I feel like I am not truly happy. This week I have had a lot of things happen that has brought this again to my attention and I wanted to share some of those. My friend, Kristen, posted on her blog the question: "Do you know who you are?" I have thought about this a lot because I know certain parts of me, but with uncertainty comes doubts of who I really am. I love my life and I am happy to be here. Sometimes I wish I could see the end from the beginning. This week I have decided to live life for me and to be in control of my own life. I have let little things control my life that shouldn't. My health, job, or anything else will not control who I am.
My brother sent me an email this week. He is serving in the Arizona Phoenix Mission. In the email he had this little rhyme that makes a lot of sense to me. I am not sure who said this.

"Trials come
And trials go
But having the Lord next to me
Is all I need to know."

I am going through a time when I am not sure what the next year or so will bring but the Lord is next to me and will be. I have nothing to worry about.
Tonight we had part of our stake conference. Elder Walker from the seventy was there. He said somethings that were really neat. One was to the effect that whatever errands the Lord wants me to run, I will be ready to do so for him. It is fine to be a "goody goody" or a "Molly Mormon" because it shows that we are truly trying.
I think the thing that was said that impacted me the most was this: "Do not let your faith be difficult to detect."
This is who I want to be. I want to be a woman of faith, charity, service and love. I want to be in control and have fun.

Tons of Fun

I have had an exciting past couple of days. On Friday, I got to go see my sister. I spent the weekend with her and her family. I had so much fun talking, playing, and watching conference. It was a good time. On Saturday, I babysat my nephews. While I was babysitting the both climbed up into the chair and I told them to close their eyes and pretend like they were asleep. It was soooooo cute and I have to share the picture. They look so peaceful there and the lighting was nice to make it look like night. On Sunday, I did not want to come home. I had so much fun there. However, there was more fun to come.
Monday brought some fun. I was able to celebrate my birthday with my parents a day early, because today was plain crazy. Anyway, when my dad got home from work, I opened presents. It was great. To make things even better, we went to Chilis for dessert. My dad had the cheesecake. He was glad that the strawberry syrup was on the bottom.
My mom had something like a chocolate chip paradise that had chocolate, walnuts, coconut with ice cream and probably some other stuff. This is mine, and it is almost as big as I am. I got the chocolate chip molten lava cake. It was huge, but delicious. Needless to say, we were all given so much food that we could not finish what was on our plates. It is all good though because it was delicious.

Today, I was able to celebrate some more. It seemed like my birthday lasted two days this year instead of just one. My friends took my out for treats for the birthday treat and also gave me a poem that they had made up about me and my life. It was great and it made me laugh. It had little joke about things that had happened to me in the past couple of years. It is going in the journal tonight, that is for sure.

After all the excitement, it is time to face that fact that I am one year older. Thank you all for everything. I have the best family and friends.

An Ode to Heather

Because this post is a little bit late, seeing as Heather, my sister's, birthday and it is March 25th and it is now 10:00ish and I am just barely posting this, I figured that I better make it extra special.

My sister is amazing. In elementary school we had to do poems like this and so here is one that is dedicated to Heather on her birthday:

Has an amazing sense of love and patience
Extremely charitable to all those she meets
Amazing talents and ways of sharing them
Trustworthy and Kind
Happy with her life and helps other to be happy (That was 2 H's)
Example of a Woman who Knows
Really special to me.

I am so lucky to have you for a sister. Thanks for everything and I hope you had a great birthday and are taking it easy.

Pancakes and Ice Cream

My life has been really crazy for the past month and there has not been a whole lot to write about. My goal was to post something by the end of the week. It is kind of sad that it is Saturday and I am finally posting. My sister is in town and was telling me how she and her son, Carson, were talking about pancakes and how she use to get ice cream on her pancakes and he was sure that ice cream and pancakes do not go together. Well, I did not have ice cream on top of pancakes but they shared in my Thursday night adventure. I was able to go to dinner with some old coworkers and talk with them. We went to Perkins, which was perfect because I love pancakes and that is what I ate. They were great and the company was wonderful. After that I headed over to a friend's house for a girl's night. They did a build your own ice cream sundae. It was great to see everyone. During that time I decided that my least favorite invention is the cell phone because I was on the phone all night. AAAHHH! That may not be completely accurate but it was a little frustrating. When I got home that night I was stinkin' tired, but I had a lot of fun.

Congratulations

I just wanted to congratulate my friend Celia on her wedding. She was married on Saturday in the Logan temple. It was a beautiful ceremony and the day was wonderful. I thought that I would share some picture from the day.

This is an awesome picture of the Logan temple. It is so beautiful and it was a wonderful day for taking pictures, although it was a but chilly outside after a while. The other picture I took of the temple was not the right way but it was a great picture too.

I was able to attend the luncheon and reception too. Celia is an amazing person and I am so happy for her and her new husband. Everything was so beautiful and perfect. What a great way to spend a Saturday.

Photo Tag

My friend Alycia tagged me and since I do not keep files of pictures on the computer I improvised and found pictures in a folder and did it that way.

Here are the instructions:

1. Go to My Documents/My Pictures
2. Go to the 6th File Folder
3. Go to the sixth picture
4. Blog About It
5. Tag 6 people to do the same.

This was not the sixth picture in the folder but I do not have permission to use number 6 and the date on this picture is not right considering this says it was March of 2007 and he was still in high school at that time. This is my brother and me and the MTC on July 9, 2008. We went down to drop him off and it reminded me of everything that went on in the MTC when I was there. There were so many good times. The foyer that we are standing in there is where I spent part of a night when I was having a reaction to some medicine. There was a couch there that I rested one with my two companions while I was being observed. My mind wandered as we went down the hall and I saw the big map, the cafeteria, and sat in the room where we would have our large group meetings. It also reminded me of the day that I went into the MTC. My mom was in pain because of a recent surgery. I goodbyes were short and sweet. I was the first missionary out of that room. I learned so much during the time I was there learning more about the gospel and learning how to speak Spanish. It is definitely something I will always remember. I know that Brady... I mean Elder Parkin will always remember it too. He is truly an example to me and I am so glad that he made the decision to serve a mission.

I guess now it is my turn to tag people. I am not good at telling people what to do so I will make this a generalized tag. Anyone who reads this and has or has not done this is who I will tag. If you want to do it...Great. If not...that is fine too. Have A Great Day!

The Big Two!!!

I apologize for not having pictures, but in my rush to get packed and leave town, I forgot my camera and also the gift that I was going to give. Today is my nephew, Tanner's, birthday. He is two years old and such a cute kid. I am not lying. I got to spend Saturday with him. We had a little party for him and it was soooooo fun. I called today to talk to my sister and got to talk to him a little bit. I told him happy birthday and his response was an attempt at saying happy birthday back with cookie in his mouth. It was great. Happy Birthday Tanner! Hope you have a great year.

My Shopping Adventures

On Friday night, a couple of friends and I decided to go shopping in Idaho Falls. Before I continue there are a few things to note:
1. I am not a huge fan of shopping, although I can tolerate it when it is with people that I like.
2. I hate spending money. I am pretty frugal with money and spending it on myself.
3. When I do go shopping, I only buy things that are good deals and that are approved by the people I am with. I know that sounds odd, but that is how I am.

To continue on with the story. We spent a while at one store (no names mentioned) that was pretty expensive. I could not bring myself to buy anything there. I would rather shop at a cheaper department store or something. We decided to go to Old Navy to see what they had. I shop in the little girls section because that is what fits me the best. Can I help it if I am small? Anyway, my friends kept throwing clothes at me saying that I needed to try this and that on. I ended up trying on a couple of things and these are the things that I ended up with. They were both cheap and they are both not things that I would usually wear.

Lots of Work

Last weekend was a little bit crazy. I went to Logan so that I could go to the temple, because the Idaho Falls temple is closed. My plan was to leave around noon. That did not happened and it was more like 1:30ish. I was a little nervous about the roads but they were fine although it was snowing here all day Saturday. Coming home the next day was a little bit more eventful. My sister has called warning me that a storm had hit where she lives and it was heading west. The drive home was an adventure in itself. There was tons of snow, low visibility, and truckers thinking that they owned the road. I was not going that slow. A couple of them were taking up their lane and half of mine. Oh well, life goes on and I got home with a tension headache. What was I going to do to keep this off of my mind. That is right......WORK. I have been working a lot lately and I am not complaining. I love keeping busy and feeling like I am doing something productive with my life. That is my life right now. I wake up, go to work, take a break, go to work, get home and do whatever the night schedule is. This week it ranged from Home Evening to helping the sister missionaries in my ward. Thank goodness for the weekend, maybe I will relax. Well, gotta run!;)

Do I Look Like I Am Made of Money?????

I think everyone has gotten word that I am working more hours because they all think that I am made of money. Granted, some of it is my own problems, but I have got some fun expenses coming up. I needed new tires, my back brakes are shot, and my doctor's bill form the beginning of November just came yesterday. I am pretty stingy with money so these expenses are a shock. I went and got the tires changed this morning. I was quoted one price and they told me it was going to be more. Once I told them the price I was quoted and who quoted me that price he said he would work it out. The final cost $332.17. YIKES!!! I had them look at my brakes and to my relief, only the back ones need changed. Therefore, it will be cheaper than what I thought it would be. YEAH!!!! My doctor must think I am made of money because his bill was not the smallest, or maybe that is just how they charge. (Probably, and I am just being a baby.) I am glad I working lots because I cannot believe how expensive things can be. Basically, my whole pay check, except tithing is going for my car and I do not get paid again until the end of the month. I guess I will just have to find some fun, cheap things to while I wait. Any Suggestions?????

Three No More....Now He's Four!

This is a little bit out of order but it is only fair that I post this now. My oldest nephew is turning four. His fourth birthday is January 6th. We spent the weekend as a family celebrating his birthday. On Saturday, Heather had a little birthday party for him. He was very excited and happy. After that the family hopped in the van and went to Chuck E. Cheese. It was a lot of fun.
This is Carson. He got the hat at his birthday party. he would not take it off all night. He loved going on the slide and playing all of the games that were there. Happy Birthday little buddy. I had a great time playing with you this weekend.

Heather enjoyed playing skee ball and was very good at that. Her husband loves basketball and I got this action shot of him earning tickets.

Nana and Tanner had some fun times too!
Grandpa was the onlooker for the evening. We had a great weekend. Once again Happy Birthday Carson.
